Gears are the key transmission parts of automobile transmissions. The correct engagement and fatigue life of gears directly affect the working performance and service life of transmissions. Taking a passenger car transmission as the research object, aiming at the problem of angle collapse at the gear tooth end of the transmission in the fatigue life test of the assembly, the paper applies metallographic inspection, electron microscope observation, gear tooth surface topology, Romax calculation analysis, dimension chain calculation and other methods to gradually find out the cause of the angle collapse failure at the gear tooth end, and optimizes and improves the gear according to the analysis results. The feasibility of the improved scheme is verified through experiments, and the problem of the tooth tip collapse is finally solved. It provides a reference for similar gear fatigue failure analysis ideas and verification methods.
Transmission gear is a key component of transmission, and its bearing capacity and reliability directly affect the life and reliability of transmission assembly. In the verification stage of new product performance and fatigue life, it is a basic means to judge whether the test is passed or not by checking whether the gear has failure modes such as tooth surface pitting and tooth fracture. For unconventional failure modes, such as early pitting and tooth breakage, individual tooth tip breakage, etc., it is necessary to find out the cause of the failure in detail and propose improvement measures. Finally, the effectiveness of the improvement measures is verified through experiments.
